Not sorry that I can’t write about cherry blossoms, 
or about deep blue skies, 
moons and tides, 
rivers running dry.  
But somehow I still  
Remember to be grateful;  
For what a privilege it is 
to write poems about my ancestors  
Freely, and while being
Alive.
